Nutritional Therapy

Your Nutritional Therapy Programme - What to Expect in 6 steps

Step 1 - Free, no-obligation mini-consultation

A fifteen-minute telephone consultation enables Victoria to get a feel for your key health issues, and gives you the opportunity to ask questions before making your first appointment.

Step 2 - Health Profile Questionnaire

Once your appointment has been scheduled, you will be asked to complete and return a Health Profile Questionnaire. This provides the dietary, medical and lifestyle history Victoria needs in preparation for your first meeting.

Step 3 - First Appointment - Nutritional Assessment - 1 hour

At your first full consultation Victoria will work with you to establish your personal health and lifestyle goals, and gather the remaining information needed to make a thorough assessment of your health and nutrition. Your weight or blood pressure may be measured, or Victoria may suggest carrying out other same-day tests such as zinc status or blood glucose. Your next appointment will then be scheduled for approximately one week later.

Step 4 - Second Appointment - Nutrition Action Plan - 1 hour

At your next consultation Victoria will explain her analysis of your health and nutrition issues. At this point she may recommend laboratory testing to pinpoint suspected biochemical imbalances or identify food sensitivities, or refer you to your GP or another healthcare provider for further exploration of specific problems.

She will work with you to establish a set of dietary guidelines based on your personal food preferences & lifestyle and she may also suggest nutritional supplements. At the end of this consultation you will receive a Nutrition Action Plan. This will include:

  • Example one-day diet plan
  • Dietary guidelines
  • Progress monitor sheet
  • Nutrition factsheets relevant to specific symptoms, as required.

Step 5 - Third Appointment - Progress Check - 1 hour

Your third consultation is usually scheduled for 6-12 weeks following your previous visit. If you have undertaken laboratory tests, Victoria will explain their findings to you, and you will receive a copy of the results. Your symptoms and progress with the Nutrition Action Plan will be reviewed, and Victoria will work with you to create a revised Plan to take you forward.

Step 6 - Sustaining Progress

Many clients benefit from regular nutritional reviews at intervals of between 3 and 12 months. This allows monitoring of key symptoms and helps you stay motivated and focused on your goals. If you have undertaken laboratory tests, re-testing after 3-12 months can provide evidence of your progress, valuable data for your healthcare providers and an excellent motivational boost.
